Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer for our Pittsburgh, PA, office. Structural Engineer will perform structural calculations and develop designs conforming to codes & standards. The successful candidate shall have the following specific responsibilities:

•Conceptualize and prepare plans, layouts, sections, details, and bills of materials to convey construction or fabrication requirements accurately.
•Develop designs consistent with good practices, client requirements, and conformance to codes and standards, coordinate with engineers and other designers to carry out the design work and meet the deliverables schedules.
•Must have 6 yrs. exp with STAAD Pro and Industrial experience.
•5 yrs. exp with calculating/designing concrete structures, steel structures, and foundations. •Coordinate with associates in other departments as required.
•Identify and resolve any potential conflicts, problems, changes, or deviations in designs.
•Perform a self-review of all the design deliverables prepared for accuracy and constructability.
•Adherence to the department's design standards and assisting others in ensuring compliance in the designs and updating them as required.
•Able to communicate clearly and articulately, verbally and in writing.
•Senior Designer may direct, guide, and check the work of a project's CAD designers and CAD drafters.

REQUIREMENTS:
•10 years' experience in civil and structural designs of buildings and equipment foundations (spread, mat, and pile); structural steel for mill buildings, auxiliary buildings, equipment support structures, and operating platforms, masonry buildings.
•Experience in Civil or Structural engineering in heavy industry environment.
•Prof Engineering Certification in any state within the US and NCEES records account are required. •Knowledge and experience of Revit, AutoCAD-2D is required. 3D expertise and capability are preferred, as is experience with Navisworks.
•A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field is required.
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
