RF Test/Design Engineer

Salary Range: $115,000-$130,000 USD per year

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as an FPGA engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, MD. You'll have an opportunity to work on world-class military programs that support the US Navy's Warfare technology. In addition, the applicant will work as part of a research, design, test, and evaluation team, but also work on design and development of FPGA including logic development, simulation, synthesis, testing, and timing closure using VHDL and associated modeling tools.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.

- Responsible for FPGA design and development including logic development, simulation, synthesis, testing, and timing closure using VHDL and associated modeling tools
- Provide technical documentation including requirements test reporting, timing diagrams, block diagrams and detailed descriptions
- Provide digital board design including high speed signal layout as required
- Mentoring to junior engineering staff on subject matter
- Minimum Bachelor degree of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of FPGA based development
- Understand abstract level research requirements, architect, and implement in an FPGA
- Responsible for developing FPGA based systems particularly using Xilinx MPSoc/RFSoc, Vivado, VITIS, and ISE
- Proficiency with Xilinx, Linux, Next Generation SDR, and JAVA Tools
- Candidate should be familiar with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generator, logic analyzer power supplies etc.)
- Experience with scripted languages such as (Python or MATLAB)
- Knowledge of FPGA based signal processing
- Knowledge of other standard IP cores
- Strong understanding of C/C++ software development, IDE development tools
- Experience with Jira software, Bitbucket, and Git tools
- Basic knowledge of RF theory
- Prior experience with Software Defined Radios (SDR) and GNU Radio
- Knowledge of JTAG and Integrated Logic Analyzer for in system debug
- Working knowledge of Bash, Java
- Experience with embedded Linux platforms
- Experience working with high speed data transit through FPGA
- Experience with MATLAB / MATLAB HDL Coder
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
