HVAC Mechanical Project Engineer

Schneider Electric is looking for a Mechanical Project Manager/Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and blueprints to estimate costs for mechanical, sheet metal, and piping installations. This role involves assessing project risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing cost-effective solutions to meet client and project requirements. Responsibilities include preparing detailed estimates for materials, labor, and equipment, reviewing drawings for accuracy, and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.
The qualified candidate will manage multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring that projects meet the requirements for time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects
- Consult with clients, vendors, internal departments, and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
- Prepare estimates for management to support planning, organizing, and scheduling work
- Analyze blueprints and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
- Review contracts and bid documents to understand the project scope and ensure accurate project turnover
- Participate in walk-throughs, pre-bid, and scope clarification meetings
- Perform quantitative take-offs and enter data into estimating software
- Prepare scope letters and proposals for potential projects
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors
- Ensure all estimating documents are centrally saved in the company's confidential drive
- Assist account managers with takeoffs and pricing changes
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs
- Review SOWs and project contract to determine risks, required resources, and time requirements for each project.
- Schedule and facilitate project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Timely communication with all stakeholders regarding change orders, product delays, jobsite deliveries and on-site visits.
- Accountable for the escalation and resolution of all project related issues.
- Prepare a status report of resource utilization, milestone completion and escalations for weekly review.
- Maintain accurate files and records of project status, change orders and activities via project software.
- Develop and maintain a high level of trust and rapport with all stakeholders.
- Perform evaluation of projects at time of completion and deliver assessments to Operations Manager for review.
- Every project is expected to be delivered with the highest level of workmanship, on time, and within budget.
- Travel to various job sites required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the HVAC Industry is required
- Previous experience with Estimating is required
- Strong knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation
- Familiarity with federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines
- Microsoft Office & PDF Viewer experience
- AutoCAD Fabrication, EstMEP, Quotesoft experience.
- Kentucky Masters License and/or OH HVAC license ( or be able to obtain within 6 months)
- HVAC load calculations
- HVAC Equipment sizing
- Duct work design and calculations
- Piping design and flow calculations.

- Understanding of technical and construction documentation.
- Demonstrates excellent writing and language skills.
