A leading logistics company within the oil & gas industry is looking for a

Vice President of Operations

to oversee and optimize key operational functions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in operations management with a deep understanding of best practices, metrics, and regulatory requirements, along with excellent leadership and communication skills. Working cross-functionally, the new team member will drive operational success by leading teams and enhancing processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives. Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the business. Identify and leverage industry trends and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Oversee daily operations, including warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and distribution, ensuring smooth and efficient processes. Manage and optimize operational workflows to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development for team members. Manage departmental budgets and resources, ensuring alignment with financial targets and operational goals. Work closely with other departments, including sales, procurement, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of operational activities. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and partners. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports to the executive team on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities. Identify and implement new technologies and tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Stay abreast of industry advancements and integrate innovative solutions into operational practices.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the logistics or consumer goods industry. Experience within a major supply chain organization. Proven track record of developing and executing successful operational strategies and driving process improvements Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain best practices, operational metrics, and regulatory requirements Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze performance data, and implement effective solutions Experience with operations management software and systems, including ERP and WMS platforms. Strongly prefer experience with Oracle systems. Comfortability to travel as much as needed (30-40% anticipated after first year)
