Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Objectives and Position Details The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical leadership role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the fiscal health of our company. As a small startup in the cryptocurrency industry, the CFO will also take a hands-on approach, performing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring compliance with internal and external financial requirements. This role encompasses responsibilities ranging from strategic financial planning and investor relations to preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and overseeing monthly and year-end closings. The CFO will collaborate with other members of the leadership team to drive sustainable growth while managing the unique financial complexities of a cryptocurrency business. Location: Miami, Florida (In Office) Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and growth initiatives. Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and investors. Lead financial planning processes, including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis, to inform decision-making. Maintain and enhance relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, investors, and regulators. Operational Accounting: Manage accounting operations for international subsidiaries and affiliates, ensuring compliance with local regulations and best practices. Account for intercompany transfers, implementing operational best practices to streamline processes. Consult with tax planners and external bookkeepers to optimize financial strategies and ensure tax compliance. Support daily accounting operations, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow. Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Prepare and review journal entries, monthly accruals, and revenue expense reports. Oversee the preparation of balance sheets and financial statements for management and investor review. Compliance and Controls: Ensure that financial information complies with relevant professional, industry, and regulatory standards. Manage audits and ensure compliance with cryptocurrency industry-specific regulations and reporting standards. Develop and implement robust internal controls and accounting processes to mitigate financial risks. Cash and Credit Operations: Analyze and manage cash flow, credit operations, and payment processes, including refunds and commission payouts. Oversee the management of company credit card policies and user accounts. Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Expertise: Monitor and interpret complex digital asset transactions using blockchain tools (e.g., Etherscan.io, Solscan.io). Provide insights into cryptocurrency market trends to inform financial strategies and reporting. Team Collaboration: Work closely with management to analyze and review Actual vs. Forecast explanations. Support the development and execution of quarterly and annual department budgets. Assist in ad hoc projects and financial analyses to support strategic initiatives. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials. Minimum of five years of experience in finance and accounting, including leadership roles. Proven experience in journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and financial analysis. Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and accounting software such as QuickBooks. Ability to manage multiple projects and work under significant deadline pressures. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Experience in the cryptocurrency or blockchain industry, including familiarity with tools such as Etherscan.io and Solscan.io. Ability to analyze and interpret blockchain transactions using publicly available data. Prior experience managing financial operations in a startup environment. By combining strategic oversight with hands-on accounting expertise, the CFO will ensure the financial stability and growth of our cryptocurrency startup, positioning the company for long-term success in a fast-evolving industry.
