JOB TITLE: Controller (Commercial)

REPORTS TO: Senior Controller

JOB SUMMARY:

AVEO Oncology, located in the Seaport district of Boston, is looking for a controller to join the Finance team. This position will be a key Finance business partner supporting Finance, Operations and Commercial Functions. The Controller must be detail oriented, organized, able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and flexible to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must possess a "can do" attitude and willingness to roll up his / her sleeves.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

* Partner with Senior Controller to operate the day-to-day accounting, partnering with business units and cultivating relationships that drive the business forward.

* the general accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.

* Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes

* Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, tax filings, internal and external audits and act as the primary liaison between the company and all regulatory agencies and external audit teams.

* Manage company cash flow, optimization of company capital.

* Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

* Oversee risk management and compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to legal and financial regulations.

* Conduct monthly, quarterly and yearly analyses to assess financial performance.

* Monitor project budgets

* Partner with cross functional teams to drive data transformation and accelerate decision-making through clearer financial insights

* Key contributor to strategic long-range planning.

* Liaison with parent company partners in Korea

* Establish best practices in accounting operations by establishing a culture of continuous improvement.

* Mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.

* Partner with the Senior Controller to build and develop a high-performing accounting function capable of supporting he company's growth objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (BASIC QUALIFICATIONS):

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required

* CPA required

* Fluent in Korean preferred

* Experience with Commercial stage BioPharma accounting preferred

* Experience with SAP, Gross to Net accounting, manufacturing practices

* 5+ years of accounting experience with experience in the life sciences industry preferred

* Proven experience with Business partnering and effectively building relationships with the ability to influence and challenge in a positive way

* Experience in supporting external audits and quarterly reviews, and SOX compliance testing required

* Strong proficiency in Excel and Smart sheets

* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

* Must be detail oriented and ensure the accuracy and completeness in all work product deliverables.

* Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment

* Possess a "can do" attitude and willingness to roll-up sleeves

* Strong communication skills with an internal and external customer focus

* Continuous mindset for process and efficiency improvements
