Job Title: Family Law Associate Attorney
Compensation: $135,000 - $160,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite)
Overview:
Our premier family law firm in San Jose, CA, seeks a knowledgeable Family Law Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for family law, exceptional legal writing skills, and a client-centered approach. Responsibilities:
- Client Representation: Advise and represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, property division, domestic violence, and prenuptial agreements.
- Case Management: Handle a caseload from inception to resolution, including conducting client consultations, drafting pleadings, motions, and correspondence, and attending court hearings.
- Discovery: Manage all aspects of discovery, including propounding and responding to discovery requests, preparing subpoenas, and reviewing and organizing documents.
- Court Appearances: Attend and present cases at hearings, trials, settlement conferences, and mediations.
- Legal Research & Writing: Conduct in-depth legal research and draft high-quality memoranda, briefs, and legal opinions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active membership in the California State Bar, in good standing.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience practicing family law.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high-asset divorce cases or complex child custody matters.
- Proficiency with family law software and tools such as DissoMaster or other child/spousal support calculation programs.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills, particularly in Spanish is desirable but not required.
