Apply for Job Job ID 74784 Location Davis Full/Part Time Full Time Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job Job Summary Reporting to the Managing Executive Director of Development (MEDOD) in the College of Biological Sciences (CBS), the Alumni External Relations Manager (AERM) plays an advanced role in furthering college initiatives by planning, developing and executing highly complex programs, events, and engagement strategies for alumni, donors and key constituency groups. The AERM is responsible for designing both short and long-term strategic plans, utilizing their institutional knowledge to address complex and sensitive issues while upholding university values. Working independently and in collaboration with Development and Alumni Relations (DEVAR), and colleagues across campus, the AERM leads the College's stewardship and alumni relations efforts to ensure CBS donors receive timely, personalized, and effective recognition and reports on the impact of their support. The AERM will provide leadership and oversight of stewardship and alumni relations-related events, strategically fostering connections between alumni, friends, donors, and the college community - including CBS students, faculty, departments, and development professionals. Additionally, the AERM serves as the College's lead ambassador for annual giving programs, including Give Day and crowdfunding efforts, providing the highest level of support and customer service to internal and external partners. Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training Minimum of 4 years of professional or volunteer experience in a fundraising organization, or equivalent transferable professional experience, preferably in higher education, healthcare, or science-based non-profit. Strong skills in project management, time management, prioritization, and event planning, with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of the principles, trends and best practices in philanthropy and relationship management with key constituencies. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the tact and political acumen to effectively represent the campus. Thorough research, analytical and critical thinking skills, including sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and address real and potential issues, advise management, and propose effective strategic solutions. Preferred Qualifications Professional experience in marketing and communications, with strong expertise in written communication. Interest in science, technology, or related field. Comprehensive knowledge of the campus mission, goals, objectives, programs, achievements, infrastructure and key issues.
