Accounting Manager

LOCATION: Chantilly, VA (on-site)

SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager will manage billing and support other corporate accounting functions on-site in Chantilly, VA. The Accounting Manager must have considerable knowledge of the FAR, DFAR, DoD, DCAA, and DCMA billing requirements and audit activities.

  • Billing Cost Plus (CPFF, CPAF, CPIF), Time & Material (T&M), and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contracts monthly
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly invoices in accordance with contract terms in Deltek Costpoint accounting system
  • Responsible for collecting payments for invoices and identifying unbilled costs
  • Maintain billing folders and contract documents for assigned projects on Shared drive
  • Follow all Billing Policies & Procedures to ensure successful internal and/or external audits
  • Responsible for the general accounting functions of the organization
  • Assist Controller with DCAA and company audits
  • Maintain accurate processes and procedures for all reports and tasks
  • Monitor compliance with company policies & procedures and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Perform any other accounting function on as-needed basis

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field desired
  • 5+ years of general accounting functions experience in a government contracting environment
  • Minimum 2+ years of billing experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles), accounting principles, and industry best practices
  • Must have proficiency in Deltek Costpoint 8.0
  • Billing experience with Cost Plus, T&M and Fixed Price type of contracts.
  • Experience in preparation of rate adjustment invoices.
  • Experience in preparation of closeout invoices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment delivering results, while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, work well with a team, and interact with multiple levels of management

COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Must be skilled in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Must have proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); with an emphasis in Excel
