We are looking for a motivated and hardworking finance professional to join the accounting team as the Accounting Manager.
The Accounting Manager will lead bookkeeping and accounting processes. Their main duties include exemplary bookkeeping, payroll processing, and managing the timely delivery of financial information. The ideal candidate has a track record of success developing and executing successful financial products in the hospitality sector.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger and reconcile all accounts, including booking the entries
- Utilize financial management software, and tools to streamline processes and enhance accuracy
- Complete bank reconciliation of all accounts within assigned portfolio
- Provide timely and accurate financial information Complete bank reconciliation of all accounts within assigned portfolioas requested and assigned
- Ensure that all internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records are followed in department
- Conduct regular reconciliations to identify and rectify financial discrepancies
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure timely payments and collections
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to financial reporting and taxation
- Manage the recording, reporting, and payment of all relevant taxes, such as sales tax and hotel tax
- Lead payroll processing for all companies
- Conduct all related payroll tasks for all locations including tax related tasks
- Complete house charge entry for assigned portfolio
- Manage daily report entry for simphony for all locations
- Prepare flash report
- Prepare year-end review for companies within assigned portfolio
- Complete credit card entry and reconciliation for all accounts within assigned portfolio
- Enter bank transactions for accounts in assigned portfolio
- Prepares and pays local room tax
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience is preferred
- Proven experience with accounting or finance roles, particularly within the hospitality industry is essential. Should have a strong understanding of hospitality specific accounting practices and regulations
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar accounting software is required
- Proficiency in Bill, Oracle, Simphony, and Paylocity is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are important for effectively conveying financial information, presenting reports to senior management, and other collaborations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and overseeing day to day operations of the accounting department.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues and ensure financial accuracy and integrity
- Able to handling sensitive financial information and ensuring compliance with ethical standards and confidentiality protocol are critical aspects of the role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Excel - must be able to design and maintain spreadsheets
- Self-starter and quick to learn new software programs and technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
