Job Title: Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerk (Full-Time)
Location: Lanham, MD (Onsite with occasional telework)

Job Summary
VECRA is seeking a Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerk with 2+ years of experience to join our Lanham, MD office. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and budget preparation. This role requires accurate recordkeeping, including weekly and monthly invoicing, and performing routine accounting duties to maintain financial records.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers.
  • Verify receipts and process payments through cash, ACH, or check.
  • Monitor office expenses and pay vendor invoices in a timely manner.
  • Assist with tax form handling and payroll record processing.
  • Verify the accuracy of financial transactions and ensure proper entry in ledgers.
  • Generate daily and monthly financial and statistical reports for management.
  • Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures.
  • Assemble and review invoices for payment completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of vouchers, invoices, and correspondence.
  • Send periodic client/customer financial reports.
  • Verify invoice approvals to ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment.
  • Ensure corporate certifications are up to date.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly accounting reconciliation and entries in QuickBooks.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Assistant on office deliveries.
  • Check and manage sensitive documents, including bank statements, checks, and bills.

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or auditing experience.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience with government contracting is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet navigation, SharePoint, and Windows.
  • Strong computer troubleshooting ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong multitasking ability and experience in fast-paced environments.

Education

  • GED or High School Diploma; relevant experience may be substituted.

Other Details

  • Shift: First – Day
  • Work Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Location: Onsite in Lanham, MD with occasional telework (5-10% remote).
