Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting & Finance to join our growing team. This role is critical in supporting the company’s financial health and strategic growth. The Director of Accounting & Finance will oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while providing key insights to drive decision-making. This individual must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in both public and private accounting roles, ideally with experience in fast-growing startups or SaaS companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    • Prepare and manage the company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements and ensure accuracy in financial statements.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure accurate and timely filings.
  2. Accounting Operations:
    • Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
    • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
    • Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  3. Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Work closely with department heads to develop annual budgets, track variances, and analyze financial performance.
    • Prepare financial forecasts and models to support strategic decision-making and investor reporting.
  4. Strategic Financial Planning:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop short-term and long-term financial strategies to support the company’s growth.
    • Assist in evaluating new business initiatives, pricing strategies, and expansion opportunities.
    • Provide financial insights to the leadership team on cost management, revenue optimization, and profitability.
  5. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a growing finance and accounting team, including recruiting and developing talent.
    • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications:

  • CPA required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in both public accounting (Big 4 or equivalent preferred) and private industry.
  • Experience in a high-growth startup, SaaS, or technology environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting, with experience in internal controls and audit compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse range of financial responsibilities from accounting to budgeting and forecasting.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and Excel; experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and work cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in fundraising, investor relations, and financial strategy in a Series A/B startup.
  • Familiarity with SaaS revenue models, subscription billing, and KPI tracking.
