Houston is the fourth largest and among the most ethnically diverse cities in the United States. Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) is the nation's largest children's hospital and is ranked No. 3 in U.S. News and World Report's 2023 Honor Roll of Best Children's Hospitals. The TCH network includes several campuses, overseeing all pathology services. The combined annual surgical case volume at TCH exceeds 17,000 specimens from pediatric and gynecologic surgeries and obstetric deliveries, along with additional cases in cytopathology and pediatric autopsies. The Neuropathology service examines over 500 surgical cases annually, including pediatric tumors and consult cases. Pathologists at TCH hold full-time academic appointments in the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and are expected to contribute to educational and scholarly activities. Opportunities for collaboration and research exist within TCH. Summary
The Department of Pathology at TCH/BCM is seeking to expand its faculty in the Division of Anatomic Pathology with a board-certified or board-eligible pathologist in Neuropathology. Additional training or experience in Pediatric Pathology is desired but not required. Minimum Qualifications
Interested individuals must possess Board eligibility/certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology through the American Board of Pathology. Board certification/eligibility in Neuropathology is required. Candidates must also be eligible for an active, unrestricted Texas medical license. Primary service responsibilities will include neuropathology, with additional coverage tailored to the successful candidate. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
