A Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key executive responsible for overseeing the financial activities and strategy of an organization. The position requires hands-on financial activities and the management of policies, processes, and procedures across all accounting and finance areas.
Primary Job Duties
Financial Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement financial plans and budgets aligned with organizational goals.
Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO and board of directors, and other senior executives.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare timely financial statements and conduct trend analysis.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Financial Operations:
Manage daily operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
Implement internal controls and streamline processes for efficiency.
Risk Management:
Identify and manage financial risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
Capital Management:
Oversee capital structure and optimize resource allocation for growth.
Evaluate investment opportunities to enhance shareholder value.
Treasury Management:
Oversee cash flow and liquidity management.
Develop strategies to optimize cash resources and manage banking relationships.
Stakeholder Relations:
Build relationships with investors, lenders, and regulators.
Communicate financial performance effectively to stakeholders.
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
Collaborate with HRM for onboarding, training, recruitment, and benefits.
Oversee international accounting operations and manage KPI tracking.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred. Proven experience (4+ years) in finance leadership roles, with a track record of success in financial management and strategy.
NetSuite and OpenAir experience preferred.
