Our client is a very successful and fast-growing IT consulting company specializing in network security and network managed services.
The Network Engineer is a pivotal role that will provide both project and BAU support services to one of their key clients based on the fringe of Sydney’s CBD (Mascot area).
You are an experienced Network Engineer with strong skills in Switching, Routing, and ideally, Firewalls, MPLS, Wireless, load balancers, etc.
The primary function of the role will be to:
Implement network solutions, including design, implementation, migration, and testing.
Network support including incident resolution and service request fulfillment.
In addition, you will be required to:
Develop and maintain close relations with the one client you will be assigned to.
Assist the Service Delivery Manager with review meetings.
Assist the company in their development and improvement of services, including processes, onboarding of customers, adhering to SLAs, etc.
In order to qualify for this role, you will have the following experience:
Proven experience in the implementation and support of network infrastructure with strong skills in Routing and Switching
(wireless and firewall highly regarded). Able to communicate complex technology-related business issues to audiences with a varying range of technical expertise. Self-motivated and resilient. Proven influencing skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to address issues with a systematic, structured, and measured approach. Demonstrated planning skills with the ability to develop structured and presentable complex multi-system change run sheets. The technologies you have expertise in include: Cisco Catalyst Switches and ASR Routers. Cisco Nexus OS switching. Cisco WLCs and access points. Cisco UC and voice infrastructure – desirable only. Security Platforms (e.g., FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco firewall appliances). Certifications: ideally CCIE or minimum CCNP or equivalent. Experience working with the following technologies would be a plus: FortiGate Firewalls. FortiManager. F5 BIG-IP. This is an initial contract to the end of June 2025 – the role offers the ability to get trained in wireless technologies including Cisco and Aruba, F5, Cisco SDA and ACI specialized courses, and Fortinet Security training.
