Job Title: Geomatics Analyst Sr - Intl NV
Specific Responsibilities
The Geomatics Analyst Sr - Intl NV for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache's Geoscience function at the company’s headquarters in Houston, reporting to the Geomatics Sr Manager.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following: • Providing technical support and implementing best workflow practices for Apache's geoscientists that generate, high-grade, and drill oil and gas opportunities. • Creating and managing well and seismic (Petrel) projects and ensuring geoscience staff are accessing current and accurate data. • Importing/Exporting and quality control of seismic (2D & 3D), well, production and culture data to and from various applications; syncing data across projects and systems. • Involved in the development of best practice workflows and their implementation for Interpretation applications and data management. • Providing GIS software support, by generating maps and managing and visualizing spatial data. • Proactively assisting asset teams, geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, operations geologists with all data related requests and data mining activities. • Multitasking and working effectively with the management, geoscience and operations teams. • Interface with corporate IT Applications group for troubleshooting, software upgrade testing and deployment requirements. • Represent team and user needs in corporate data related initiatives and data gathering. • Enhance the data quality and actively seek opportunities for process and data visualization improvement. Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science or related field is required. • 6+ years oil and gas experience. • Requires a solid understanding of standard principles and ability to effectively QC and high grade datasets for the asset teams use. • Works under general supervision to apply standard techniques or procedures to assigned. • Decisions may impact the incumbent and peers within the scope of the job assignment. • Provides technical support to geological, geophysical, and/or engineering personnel. • Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of technology, applications, terminology, and procedures required. • Experience in supporting New Ventures activities and data presentation. • Effectively implement process improvements and standards, recommending best practice workflows for the asset. • Self-aware with excellent communication skills, both written and oral. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills. • Takes a multi-discipline approach to projects and problem solving. • Significant Petrel, Studio knowledge and experience • Strong knowledge of GIS is a necessity. • Experience with the below software applications is preferred: • Kingdom, DUG, Hampson Russell • IP (Integrated Petrophysics) • ArcGIS/ArcPro • Exploration Archives, EDM • Analytical tools such as Spotfire or PowerBI • Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams The successful candidate should demonstrate and exhibit the following core competencies: Communication: Writes, speaks, and presents information effectively and persuasively across communication setting; Results: Pursues work with energy, drive, and results orientation to positively impact Apache's business success; Collaboration: Works in partnership with others and encourages different perspectives, while building and maintaining trust; and Culture: Willingness and ability to align one's behavior with the needs, priorities, and goals of Apache.
