They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and are supported through a Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is guided by the Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core values. Key Responsibilities: - Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practices and ensuring individualized care. - Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care considering specific characteristics (e.g., age, disease) and adapt service delivery to reflect an understanding of diversity. - Partner with the patient and significant others using appropriate communication methods and making patient goals central in the plan of care.Teamwork and collaboration are essential, including coordinating the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care. This involves diverse interdisciplinary communication methods, timely documentation, and promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.Professional Development: - Complete all professional competency assessments and required education. - Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other nurses and staff to ensure a qualified workforce and promote a healthy work environment.Evidence-Based Practice: - Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing. - Uphold healthcare system policies, legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. - Participate in data collection and consult appropriate experts to address practice questions.Resources and Support: - Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum. - Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
