Position Summary The Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer, works collaboratively with the Senior Director of Finance and directs all accounting for GLIDE Foundation and affiliates. The Controller leads all day-to-day business operations of $33 million budget and supervises a team of 3 including functional responsibility over accounting, invoice management, expense reports and payments, payroll, and benefits accounting, revenue recognition, billing entries and cash receipt postings. The Controller works closely with program leaders and their business unit managers, not only to educate regarding finance and accounting procedures but also to explore how the accounting function can support program operations. The Controller ensures that GLIDE has the relevant systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and day-one ready during audits. Partnering with the Sr. Director of Finance to enhance and better integrate accounting, finance, HR, facilities and IT functions with programmatic deliverables. Accounting and Business Operations

Supervises and provides leadership to the accounting team. Manages all business operations activities, including disbursements and payables, cash receipts, AR-billing and collections, general ledger, and fixed assets. Ensures compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Implements internal controls to safeguard assets, deter and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse, mitigating risks. Analyzes balance sheet accounts, fundraising revenue, and expenses monthly prior to month-end closing, due the 10th. Conducts monthly A&G allocation based on reasonable and equitable estimates developed by the CFO and year-end true-up. Reconciles payroll taxes liabilities, withholdings, benefits, and wages. Leads the annual financial, government contracts, and single audit. Assists and supports GLIDE’s senior leadership in the annual budget planning. Implements approved budget plans, compares to actual results to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate. Records and accounts for investment activities provided by the senior director. Maintains fixed assets register and observes annual physical inventory of movable property and equipment. Maintains integrity and validity of all business and accounting records for audit and in compliance with records retention policies. Analyzes financial data; monitors progress, changes, and trends, keeping the executive officers (CFO and CEO) abreast of any adverse trends. Prepares weekly cash report to CFO and monthly cash report due the 5th of the month following. Contracts, Billing and Collections

Ensures compliance with grant requirements and financial reporting. Directs all grants accounting and compliance with grant spending and allowable cost principles. Ensures that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund cycle. Collaborates with program budget managers to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish accounting, fiscal, and administrative systems to support program operations. Performs timely and accurate monthly billing entries and provides aging report to CFO and Senior Director. Supports contract audits—federal, state, city—and desk reviews. Other duties can be assigned, and the duties and responsibilities of the job are subject to change without notice. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; a master's degree or CPA is highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years in a senior accountant level role or as a manager in nonprofit social services, or 5-7 years in audit or government entities. Excellent guided knowledge and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles, government accounting standards, and cost principles allowed in government contractual obligations. Experience with the City of San Francisco, CA Department of Education, and federal contractual obligations and reporting requirements. Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills with experience in nonprofit standards. Proficiency in financial software, preferably Sage Intacct or MIP, Concur invoice management, Workday Adaptive Financial Insights, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excel master level proficiency. $125,000 - $150,000 a year

Work Environment:
