Better Morning emerged as an outpatient behavioral health practice in Ashburn, VA in the year of 2014.
In addition to providing counseling from the Ashburn office, Better Morning started off as a certified provider for intensive in home and community-based services (IHCBS), for at risk youth in District of Columbia.
In August of 2017, Better Morning was certified as a Core service agency (CSA) by DC Department of Behavioral Health. Better Morning founder’s passion for at risk youth and their family were the motivation to keep expanding the evidenced based programs to meet the need of the underserved population.
Job Description
Summary Trauma Focused Outpatient Clinician will provide clinical services in home and office settings. Responsibilities
Perform assessments of clients, including diagnosis utilizing the most current DSM, develop treatment plans based on assessment, and submit service authorization documentation. Provide individual/family/group counseling sessions and document same. Develop treatment plans and report on progress to guardians, and other involved parties (Probation Officers, Guardian Ad Litums, etc.). Collaborate with school staff and other treatment providers on client needs. Exercise sound judgment in proposing changes to client treatment plans. Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings. Review treatment plans of clients at each team meeting. Coordinate closely with other staff to ensure the appropriateness of treatment modalities. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Serve as clinical liaison to referral sources and guardians regarding client progress and needs. Develop and implement plans for individual client discharges. Maintain record of all services provided. Maintain high quality documentation of all case work, completed in a timely manner and consistent with outlined program policies and licensure requirements. Lead/participate in staff training and/or seminar presentations as requested. Notify Supervisor of any significant client medical complaint(s), unusual events, accidents, medical problems, property damage or maintenance concerns. Provide individual counseling, family/group counseling, substance abuse, psychological services, and psychiatric services as needed to address mental illness or emotional difficulties such as depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment, grief, and abandonment/rejection. Use alternative interventions as appropriate such as art or play therapy. Qualifications
Education: A master's degree in psychology, counseling or social work. Must be Board Certified. Required: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor; Counselor with one year experience working with clients in a clinical role.
