About the Company The CFO is responsible for all financial operations and certain other operational functions, including but not limited to: Manages the accounting functions and directly assists the Chief Executive Officer on all strategic matters relating to budget management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting needs and internal controls. Develops policies to control and coordinate accounting, auditing, budgets, taxes and related activities and records. Produces financial analysis and reporting for CEO, Board of Managers. Oversees safekeeping of all financial assets and financial reporting of all financial transactions, record keeping and financial reporting including billing, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, inventory, cash and investments, fixed assets and payroll. The CFO will also manage the purchasing, receiving and logistics departments and management of the warehouse but not production or installation. The CFO will also manage HR. About the Position Execute all general accounting and related activities. Implement and enhance systems to support the business operation. Establish and maintain an adequate cost management system. Produce the monthly financial statements, respecting deadlines established by management. Maintain fixed asset ledgers and prepare depreciation schedules for monthly entries. Establish and monitor the annual budget in coordination with the finance committee, department managers, and Chief Executive Officer. Analyze financial information, monitor budgeted versus actual expenditures and advise management about variances and their potential causes; recommend corrective actions to help ensure the budget goals are met. Monitor billings and accounts receivable in accordance with established policies and procedures. Safeguard all funds in bank and investment accounts; ensure that an adequate cash management program is in place. Rigorously manage cash, accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable. Oversee reconciliation of bank statements. Ensure sound management of company assets by creating checks and balances on all financial data. Execute financial analysis, develop appropriate remedial recommendations and report to management. Train and advise department heads about the financial aspects of their responsibilities. Maintain long term capital project schedules, files, budgets, costing and payouts and capital asset study. Oversee bi-weekly company payroll. Establish a robust HR function and maintain the health, retirement and all other employee benefit programs. Prepare or oversee completion of applicable federal, state, and local tax returns. Work with CEO to manage, renew and modify (as necessary) the Company’s building and property insurance. Manage purchasing and receiving function, negotiating critical supply contracts and terms with vendors. Manage warehouse function, ensuring inventory is correctly recorded and ensure physical inventories are conducted on a regular basis and that resulting adjustments are made to accounting records to accurately reflect inventory quantities. The CFO will be a critical member of the executive management team and will provide strategic input to Company decision making. Basic Qualifications: 4-year college degree in Accounting, CPA, MBA or equivalent field of study. 5+ years as a CFO, Director of Finance, Controller or in a related position. Understanding of manufacturing processes and costing systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with a strong commitment to achieving the goals of each department. Computer proficiency, strong written and oral communication skills in English. Requires a high degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in terms of problem solving, decision making and communication. Knowledge of current Federal, State and local laws and regulations necessary for operations. Must have valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record (a DMV report will be required upon hire and annual DMV reports will be checked). Must be authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with MBA, CPA or internationally recognized equivalents. Preference given to candidates with previous manufacturing experience.
