SCHOOL OF LAW:CAREER RESOURCES (02700C) Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant Director will assume primary responsibility for at least two service areas of immediate need: public interest; externships; judicial clerkships; employer outreach through social media; programming/events; alumni outreach; and excellence in community. Specific primary areas to be assigned by the Assistant Dean of Career Services and in line with the Assistant Director’s demonstrated skill sets. In addition to these primary areas, the Assistant Director will share responsibility for office-wide services such as student counseling and data collection. The Assistant Director will perform other duties as assigned by and at the discretion of the Assistant Dean of Career Services. Assistant Director candidates with demonstrated success in teamwork, work ethic, willingness to learn new skills, and attention to detail will receive priority consideration. Minimum Qualifications:

Required: - Knowledge of the range of legal careers in law firms, government, judiciary, public interest, business, and general industry. - Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Must be a good listener with the ability to act empathetically and with tact and a sense of humor. - Effective problem-solving and research skills required. - Must use good judgment, handle sensitive issues diplomatically, maintain confidentiality, act ethically, and adapt well to change. Preferred: - Previous student advising or counseling experience. - JD preferred. Computer Skills:

Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and career-related software. About Loyola University Chicago:
