Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Execute database migrations, upgrades, and configurations for SQL Server, MySQL, and other open source database instances. Conduct regular health checks and resolve complex performance issues. Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies. Perform regular DR tests to ensure data is recoverable and systems can be restored quickly. Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexing, and other performance-related configurations. Identify and resolve bottlenecks to improve database response times. Maintain compliance with internal data security policies by managing access controls, permissions, and encryption. Work with security teams to ensure databases are protected from unauthorized access. Work closely with developers and system administrators to optimize database operations for applications. Assist with complex data transformations and database integration. Skills and Knowledge

4+ years of relevant experience in database administration Strong SQL skills for query optimization, including experience with SQL Server, MySQL, and other open source databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL). Experience with clustering, replication, and failover setups to ensure minimal downtime and maximum data availability. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automating repetitive tasks and enhancing operational efficiency. Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data warehousing principles, and managing data flows between systems. Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Idera, PMM) and experience with query tuning and indexing strategies for enhanced performance. Aptitude in automating tasks and job scheduling using tools such as SQL Server Agent and Jenkins to streamline maintenance, backups, and other recurring database operations. #INDCEN
