About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Kubernetes System Administrator and DevOps Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure. This role requires expertise in Kubernetes administration, cloud architecture, automation, and a strong understanding of DevOps principles. This is an onsite role in Kirkland, WA.
Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments (development, staging, production).
Extensive hands-on experience in managing Kubernetes control plane is mandatory.
Manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, including scaling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Implement security best practices for Kubernetes clusters, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Extensive hands-on experience in creating the container infrastructure platform for the company is mandatory.
Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources.
Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and scalability, leveraging cloud-native services and technologies.
Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD):
Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment of applications using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
Integrate CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes for seamless deployment and management of containerized applications.
Automate deployment workflows, ensuring reliability, repeatability, and efficiency.
Monitoring and Logging:
Set up monitoring and logging solutions for Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure, using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or cloud-native monitoring services.
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.
Implement alerting and incident response processes to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Security and Compliance:
Implement security measures to protect Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and company security policies.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Share knowledge and best practices with team members through documentation, presentations, and training sessions.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience in Kubernetes administration and container orchestration.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Bash, Python, or Go.
Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools for Kubernetes and cloud environments.
Familiarity with security best practices for cloud and containerized environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Kubernetes certification (CKA, CKAD, or equivalent).
Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native technologies (Docker, Istio, etc.).
Familiarity with serverless computing and managed Kubernetes services (EKS, AKS, GKE).
Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
Experience with agile methodologies and agile software development practices.
Customer Support Responsibilities:
Provide technical product support for existing customers.
Respond to customer issues and updates within the service level objectives.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve customer issues.
Clearly document the problem and resolution.
Document common problems and resolutions into knowledgebase articles.
Escalate as required to next-level product support and/or development teams.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $95,000 – $135,000. The range provided is broad and takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are reviewed when making a hiring decision, such as years of experience, skills, location, and other business needs.
The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which for some roles may include a performance bonus and very generous benefits.
