Finance Manager, eCommerce Foundation Finance
Job ID: 2845158 | Amazon.com Services LLC Are you excited to embark on an exhilarating journey with our tech leaders to build the core systems, services and infrastructure behind Amazon.com? eCommerce Foundation (eCF) Finance seeks a high performing Finance Manager who will be a partner to senior leaders enabling data-driven business decision-making and be a critical part in setting the strategic direction for their groups. You will utilize your education and work experience to optimize investments, provide insights, and determine the best course of action. This critical role goes beyond the regular Finance controllership and reporting responsibilities, requires a self-starter with excellent business modeling skills, attention to detail, and a solid track record of influencing business partners.
Key job responsibilities
Partner with technical leaders through financial modeling and analysis to develop and maintain a reliable, secure, and cost optimized tech infrastructure. Execute regular financial reporting cycles, including variance analysis, while delivering key insights to both central FP&A and technical leadership teams. Manage financial controls while actively identifying and implementing cost-saving measures and operational efficiencies. Develop business case analyses including Return on Investment (ROI) framework to support key business initiatives. Drive quarterly forecast and annual planning exercises. Spearhead process improvement and automation. Establish and communicate key operating and business metrics.
About the team
The eCommerce Foundation (eCF) team owns foundational software and programs that power Amazon's Stores, Digital, and other businesses. Our services include core commerce functions such as the catalog, ordering, and customer identity systems. We operate the global Retail Websites, Amazon's internal general purpose data lakes, and foundational technologies including Sable and Datapath. eCF is on point for the protection of the privacy and security of Amazon customers and their data. We are stewards of availability and operational efficiency of SDO services, as well as champions of the architectural evolution of SDOs infrastructure.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience. - BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience. - MBA, or CPA. - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards). - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results. - Experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience. - Experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience. - Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience. - Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel. - Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving.
