Business Analyst - Capital Planning
We are JLL-the world's leading commercial real estate firm. We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our national Project and Development Services (PDS) Capital Planning platform. Our PDS group delivers more than just a project. JLL manages the design and construction of real estate projects from beginning to end - handling every detail on our clients' behalf - in order to deliver the largest return on investment. From corporate office fit-outs and move management, to the rollout of multiple retail sites, to the construction of distribution centers, we deliver projects and services inspired by our clients' business vision. We help improve speed to market while effectively managing costs-- all while transforming the spaces where people live, work and play.
This Business Analyst position is focused exclusively on the Capital Planning business. The Business Analyst will have the opportunity to be involved at every stage including gathering client data requirements and collecting and collating identified data, supporting data management and accuracy as a Capital Planning project is developed, reviewing and analyzing client data for accuracy in support of client engagement goals and developing and generating comprehensive reporting and analytics in support of client engagements as well as driving management intelligence.
The activities for the role include:

- Engages to understand client business requirements and data to advise users on the right analytics to communicate the intended message to the target audience.
- Responsible for a range of analyst activities from simple and efficient data entry, management and analysis to complex financial modeling exercises in excel and Smartsheet.
- Generates business intelligence reporting and analytics to support telling the story of the data.
- Manages the identification, prioritization, and remediation of data quality issues.
- Participates in the design and development of technical solutions to ensure that business requirements are satisfied.
- Participate in and lead weekly client meetings as assigned in support of the Capital Planning process.
- Degree/diploma or relevant educational background in statistics/data analytics/ computer science or general degree with data/analysis focus with 3 to 4 years of working experience in data and digital delivery-oriented roles
- The candidate should be able to demonstrate these skills through practical examples and be prepared to discuss how they have applied advanced Excel techniques in previous roles.
- Creating complex formulas and nested functions (e.g., INDEX/MATCH, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
- Developing dynamic dashboards and interactive reports using PivotTables and Pivot Charts
- Designing and maintaining complex financial models and forecasts
- Ability to work with large datasets and optimize spreadsheet performance
- The ideal candidate will excel in relationship management and possess a deep understanding of organizational structures, including:
- Developing and maintaining strong, productive relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Experience navigating complex corporate hierarchies and matrix structures effectively.
- Must be familiar with real estate department enterprise management business.
- Specific real estate industry vertical experience or specialty welcome.
- Advanced use of Smartsheet. Experience in Tableau and Power BI a plus.
- Understanding of data and systems engineering concepts to effectively integrate and analyze data to develop actionable business information deliverables.
- Experience with corporate real estate business and or JLL PDS and construction project/program management a plus
- Able to think logically, organize work flows efficiently, and solve problems independently.
- Outstanding communication skills-oral and written.
