Job Summary
The Education Director plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational framework and policies of our institution. This position is responsible for overseeing academic programs, managing faculty and staff, and ensuring that the educational offerings meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in higher education teaching, and experience in curriculum development.

Duties

  • Develop and implement educational programs that align with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Manage daily operations of the education department, including faculty recruitment, training, and evaluation.
  • Provide academic advising to students, guiding them through their educational journey.
  • Oversee curriculum development to ensure it meets accreditation standards and addresses student needs.
  • Lead grant writing initiatives to secure funding for educational projects and programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance student learning experiences and outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess program effectiveness through data analysis and feedback from students and faculty.
  • Foster a positive learning environment by promoting student engagement and success.
  • Manage special projects related to educational initiatives, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Proven experience in higher education teaching and administrative roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Experience working with students in an academic setting, demonstrating a commitment to student success.
  • Proficiency in grant writing and securing funding for educational programs is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of academic advising practices and curriculum development processes.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on collaboration across departments.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 12 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call

Ability to Relocate:

  • Astoria, NY 11103: Relocate before starting work (Required)
