Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Vice President of Ancillary Operations is to provide strategic direction and executive leadership oversight to improve operations, quality, and financial performance. The position will directly oversee: IT, Revenue Cycle, Sales Marketing, Growth and Development, and the creation of a new staffing company. Provides executive-level leadership, strategic direction, and drives performance.
Identifies and implements actions to improve quality, service, financial performance, and contractual compliance. This position will create and maintain strong communication channels among all facilities and home office departments to create a balanced, integrated, collaborative environment which fosters a culture that is receptive to changes in healthcare.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
Maintains full operational oversight of multiple departments.
Provides leadership, direction, and administration over operations while improving efficiency in operations.
Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
Collaborate with the CNO and VP who oversees clinical excellence and all patient care.
Collaborate with the VP of facility operations to assist in driving sales strategy, prioritization, road mapping, and business development to accelerate growth.
Own supply/demand optimization, matching staffing to patient volume and aligning state licenses.
Support and manage the VP of Growth Operations as they set the vision for revenue growth, ensuring we grow.
Support and manage the IT department as they set the vision for needs assessment, needs road mapping, building, and improving SOPs to improve support to buildings and business.
Direct leaders to be fiscally responsible and meet productivity standards in resource utilization, staffing patterns, and operational efficiency.
Oversees regional services and programs to ensure they meet and exceed established goals, quality, and state/federal regulatory standards.
Ensures departments follow all state & federal government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
Consults, reports, and meets with the executive leadership team on operations and goals.
Facilitates the development, maintenance, and monitoring of organizational plans.
Builds external relationships to enhance Avamere's stature and market share in the marketplace.
Fosters teamwork and collaboration amongst team members.
Organizes and oversees system-wide operational improvement goals and projects.
Identify and mitigate operational risks, including but not limited to legal, compliance, safety, and security risks. Implement risk management protocols and ensure proper incident reporting and investigation procedures.
Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement strategies to achieve financial goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the operational team, aligning operational goals with the company's mission and objectives. Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing skilled nursing facilities. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and implement necessary policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
Requirements and Qualifications
Prefer master's degree in business, Health Administration, Nursing, Therapy, or comparable experience.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, or a similar field of study; seven (7) years of experience leading and managing a multi-facility and/or multiple healthcare departments in the geriatric rehabilitation clinical setting with an organization with three (3) years of progressive levels of leadership experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience in managing staff, budgets, performance improvement, and project management in a matrixed environment.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards governing skilled nursing facilities.
Proven track record of driving operational excellence, efficiencies, and financial performance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments and lead organizational change initiatives.
Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
