Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights 3-12s 7p-7a 3x12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year nursing experience License: RN license in North Carolina Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Provider, ACLS
Must-Have Skills & Experience: - One (1) year of nursing experience - Nursing Diploma, ADN or ASN - Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina - BLS and ACLS certification
Description: - Education: Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. - Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. - Uses patient education materials relevant to patient population. - Assesses readiness to learn of the patient, family, caregivers. - Assesses developmental level of patient and factors affecting ability to learn.
- Evaluation of Care: Identifies expected patient outcomes. - Seeks guidance as needed in revision of plan of care. - Participates in evaluation of patient care with interdisciplinary team. - Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
- Implementation: Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems. - Performs bedside point of care testing as required. - Utilizes healthcare organization and nursing standards in delivery of care. - Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient/family needs. - Consults with appropriate resources regarding complex care issues.
- Leadership: Develops goals to promote professional growth. - Achieves goals and objectives. - Participates in unit goals and performance improvement activities. - Promotes cost-effective care. - Gives feedback to co-workers. - Promotes a safe hospital environment.
- Patient Assessment: Recognizes data to determine care priorities. - Includes appropriate physical, psychosocial, education and safety needs. - Anticipates discharge needs of patients and families. - Develops relationships with families to advocate for patient needs.
- Planning: Collaborates with patient/family to update the plan of care. - Makes use of available resources in planning care. - Addresses cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care. - Prioritizes tasks for patients with complex problems.
- Research: Reads journals for applicable studies or articles. - Brings ideas and questions to the staff for assessment of applicability.
