Overview

This person will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction and tutoring on a part-time basis in the Physician Assistant program.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

* Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant, Health Sciences, or related discipline, OR, equivalent combination of education and work experience that qualifies the individual to perform the functions of the position. Required * Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program. Required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

* DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid Driver' License Required

EXPERIENCE

* Two (2) years experience as a clinically practicing Physician Assistant. Required * Possession of a current (or emeritus status) NCCPA certification without restrictions in any state of the United States where licensing occurred. Required * Currently licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania. Required * Evidence of successful teaching experience. Preferred

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form. Required * Developed organizational skills. Required * Sensitivity to the expectations of students, staff, faculty, health care professionals, and the public. Required * Knowledge and understanding of educational theory. Required * Understanding of the role and responsibilities of Physician Assistants in clinical practice. Required * Must possess a current Hepatitis B vaccine. Required * Must be certified in CPR to the BLS or equivalent level. Required * Possession of a valid driver's license. Required

Responsibilities

Provide didactic and clinical instruction in physician assistant courses. Provide tutoring on concepts specific to the Physician Assistant Studies curriculum. Assume limited responsibility for laboratory coordination and maintenance. Attend school meetings as requested. Complete official student rosters and return to school office as requested. Maintain accurate written records of student performance.

Pay Transparency

The part-time rate for 2024/25 will be the greater of $1160 per credit or $773 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $48.31 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
