Overview:

As our Maintenance Team Lead, you will be oversee, and perform general repair associated with all aspects of a building/warehouse setting including, but not limited to: HVAC equipment, plumbing, carpentry, conveyor, carton sorters and warehouse racking. Install all types of building components and warehouse equipment. Trains and assigns work to the Maintenance Technicians.

This is a night shift position. Hours: Sunday-Thursday, 10pm-7am.



Detailed Description:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Conducts a walk thru of the buildings to note and complete any item needing attention regarding the overall condition of the buildings and equipment, i.e. bulbs burned out, shop cleanliness
  2. Maintains OSHA/corporate set guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for coworkers
  3. Assists Maintenance Supervisor in procuring quotes for parts, materials, and project costs
  4. Distributes work orders to team members and manages their workload
  5. Follow-up and checks for completion of work orders given to team members and ensures that the paperwork is done properly
  6. Submits completed work orders and receipts to Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner
  7. Conducts all work activities in a safe manner
  8. Keeps parts inventory current and coordinates with vendors as needed
  9. Completes layout of jobs and procurement of materials to ensure continued workflow
  10. Follows up on development of projects, during progress and after completion to ensure quality
  11. Prioritizes and assigns job duties to the Technicians
  12. Abides by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company
  13. Maintains regular and predictable attendance
  14. Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors
  15. Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice

Marginal Functions

  1. Inspects the lockout/tagout procedures of team members periodically
  2. Keeps parts inventory current and coordinates with vendors as needed
  3. Inspects MSDS to ensure proper use and correct use of materials
  4. Completes proper documentation for team members which includes performance appraisals, timekeeping and other documentation as needed
  5. Performs snow removal as needed
  6. Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating equipment, as set forth by the OTC certification standards
  • Conducts all work activities in compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Ability to train and lead others effectively
  • Ability to prioritize and assign work effectively
  • Requires knowledge and ability to operate and handle all varieties of hand and power tools
  • Must provide own hand tools

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred

Experience

  • Experience in training and providing work direction to others is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance and manual labor including plumbing, painting, HVAC and mechanical repair work
  • General AC/DC electrical experience preferred

Other Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to insurance and labor law requirements
  • Must have a valid drivers license and driving record in accordance with OTC standards is required for operation of company vehicles
  • Ability to climb ladders of all types to access roof and ceiling
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to walk frequently, use elevators and climb open grate stairways
  • Ability to work rotational weekend shifts while being responsible for the entire on call weekend
