We are seeking a Janitor for an industrial company for a full-time contract to hire position based in Rockford, IL. The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across multiple facilities, including warehouses, office spaces, and clinics, to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

· Trash Removal: Empty waste bins and replace liners in all areas.

· Surface Cleaning: Dust and wipe down all furniture, shelves, and equipment.

· Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, hallways, and other common areas.

· Window Cleaning: Wash windows to ensure clear visibility and cleanliness.

· Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize all restrooms, restocking supplies as needed.

· High-Traffic Area Sanitization: Regularly disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.

· Wall Scrubbing: Remove stains and dirt from walls and baseboards.

· Spill Management: Quickly clean and sanitize any spills to prevent accidents or contamination.

· Flexibility: Ability to adjust work hours as needed based on business demands.

· Physical Stamina: The role requires walking, bending, and standing for extended periods throughout the workday.

· Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in cleaning tasks and identifying areas that require attention.

· Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure all areas are properly maintained within the shift.

Physical Demands:

· Standing: Constantly throughout the workday.

· Walking: Constantly; involves moving around various facilities.

· Bending/Stooping: Frequent bending to clean surfaces, empty trash, or scrub floors.

· Reaching (Overhead, Straight Ahead, Downward): Frequent reaching for cleaning supplies or to wipe down surfaces.

· Lifting/Carrying: Occasional lifting of cleaning equipment or materials up to 25 lbs.

· Climbing, Kneeling, Crouching: Occasional kneeling for floor-level cleaning tasks or reaching high areas.

· Twisting, Balance, and Foot Control: Minimal twisting or balancing required for cleaning tasks.

Safety Equipment/PPE:

· All required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided by the company to ensure safety during cleaning tasks.

Additional Requirements:

· Must pass a background check.

· Proof of citizenship required.

· Valid driver’s license is required and own transportation.

· Lifting 25 lbs.

Work Environment:

The position will require frequent movement between various facility areas, including office spaces, warehouses, and clinics. The environment may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures, and occasional loud noises.
