The Buyer is responsible for supporting the Purchasing Department to ensure the best cost and highest quality materials are purchased and delivered on time to support the Manufacturing of products that sell through all Harry David channels of business. This position determines the quantity and desired delivery date through the placement of all purchase orders for their category of product. Once the purchase order is placed, it is the responsibility of the Buyer to work in tandem with the Coordinator and correspond with the supplier to resolve any issues that would prevent the quantity and timing of the original purchase order. The Buyer uses the MRP system to review the net available inventory and requirements in order to determine what to order. This position is located in Medford, Oregon.

Use SAP MRP to determine material requisitions, MOQs, quantity discounts and timing of needed materials.Determine best purchasing, delivery and timing strategy based upon business constraints and financial impact of the product.Place and ensure delivery of all purchase orders with the suppliers.Manage any supply exceptions and determine resolution to supply, vendor, and payment issues.Collaborate with merchants, QA, merchandise planners and production planners to communicate any downstream or upstream impacts that may occur.Manage inventory supply and stocking levels.Support duties of others on Purchasing Team when out of the office or otherwise unavailable.Balance supply between Harry and David facilities.Other duties as assignedRequirements

Minimum 4-year Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field or equivalent experience

2+ years ofdemonstrated working experience with business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.2+ years knowledge and execution of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.Experience working with raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods is preferred.Ability to bring about business solutions that are in the best interest of the Company while creating and maintaining a vendor relationship built upon cooperation and mutual interests.Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Experience evaluation the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.Experience purchasing and negotiating is a plus.Working with Microsoft Office Products with a strong level of Excel
