Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a specialized area; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.Applicants must meet DoD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higherMust be able to travel up to 15% of the time, scheduled and unscheduled with short noticeClearance Requirements:This position requires a minimum of an active TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager. Linux Systems Administrator
who thrives in fast-paced ever-changing environments, enjoys multitasking, and can work independently or as part of a project team. Reporting to the System Administrator Team Lead, this position will be a key member of our team and responsible for the maintenance and administration of Linux systems and network infrastructure.Your responsibilities may include:Managing all aspects of exchange server, services, back-ups and restoreSupport and perform defined tasks in a VMware virtual environment.Windows command level administrationCommand level troubleshooting of OS and associated hardware/softwareManaging and maintaining core and system wide backupsPerforming, restoring, or rebuilding of MS OS based systems, files and associated applicationsManaging system wide patching as needed or as requiredProviding on-site technical solutionsInstalling, moving and or break-down systemsProviding detailed technical solutionsCreating, modifying, and removing user accountsCommand level Microsoft Windows troubleshootingRed Hat LINUX command line administrationTroubleshooting of associated hardware/softwareCreate, track and resolve helpdesk action itemsMaintain the security and stability of cross domain enterprise level solutionsBuild, install, move and or break-down systems on-site or remotelyCreate detailed technical reports and metricsInteract with customers and support personnel at off-site data centersCommand level Database troubleshooting, including SQLiteMust be able to perform scheduled and unscheduled fly-away supportThe successful candidate will have experience with many of the following:Build, configure, administer and troubleshoot Linux (and Windows) servers and user workstation hardware and softwareDesign and implement workgroup-scale networks; build and manage authentication, file-share, and other collaboration servers to support groups of heterogeneous client systemsStrong understanding of infrastructure technologies and functionalities (e.g., firewalls, Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory (AD), Splunk, SolarWinds, etc.)Extensive experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.X or 7.X, with a strong experience with handling files, directories and command-line interface (CLI) skillsetExperience with Linux security, SSL/TLS, certificates, encryption, key stores, firewalls, management of PAM authentication, configuring system auditing and configuring SELinuxExperience with centralized authentication technologies such as LDAP and Active Directory domains in supporting (Linux/Windows) cross-platform clients is desirableFamiliarity with the DIACAP and/or ML accreditation processes, specifically with configuring Linux systems in compliance with the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)MS Windows system administration experience, including: Active directory experience in Server 2008R2/2012R2/2016 and WSUS managementExperience with operating systems, including booting into different run levels, identifying processes, starting and stopping virtual machines, and controlling servicesExperience with configuring local storage using partitions and logical volumesExperience with file systems and file system attributes, such as permissions, encryption, access control lists, and network file systemsAbility to deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installation, updates, and core servicesAbility to troubleshoot issues and suggest resource monitoring optionsMust be a self-starter and have the ability to think outside of the box to design effective solutionsMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills as this position will interact with senior-level executivesDocument and electronically store daily task information, architecture, processes, and user instructionsExperience with CEPH Cluster Administration is desiredCompany OverviewGeneral Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) engineers a diverse portfolio of high technology solutions, products and services that enable customers to successfully execute missions across all domains of operation.
