Under general guidance of the Sr. Director, Shopper Insights & Activation, the Sr. Manager of Shopper Insights is responsible for all Shopper research and analytics for the Category portfolio including any relevant Rx to OTC brands. The scope of this role is U.S and the Sr. Manager will proactively partner with U.S. business teams to provide insightful direction for Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Sales Strategy, Field Sales and Field Insights.The Sr. Manager will be required to possess a broad range of analytic capabilities and be responsible for delivering best-in-class insights in the areas of market performance, shopper behavior, omnichannel dynamics, shelving/pricing research and recommendations, and the development of forward-looking strategic Category direction, thought leadership and in-aisle and omnichannel Category solutions. They will also identify key Shopper research gaps and partner with Field Insights personnel and HQs team to conduct optimal research that will lead to new learnings and new ways to activate Shoppers across our portfolio.This role will have responsibility for working cross-functionally with the Brand Teams, Market Research/Analytics team and Category & Shopper Insights Field personnel teams supporting our customers. They will be a champion of a culture of teamwork and sharing and infuse leading-edge insights across the broader Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Sales Strategy, Field Sales, and Field Insights teams, helping accelerate the development of a high-performance culture.**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**In order of importance, list the primary responsibilities critical to the performance of the position. It is recommended not to list actual tasks but focus on essential responsibilities that highlight accountability and level of judgment required.* Leverage all existing Category & Shopper tools, resources and studies available to build a toolbox of leading-edge insights and dynamics around our Categories and Shoppers. Identify Shopper research and data gaps, help secure resources to develop the next evolution of Category leadership merchandising plans and recommendations.* Develop resource and learning plans, with key insights feeding into the development of Strategic Category direction; work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on future Category direction and recommendations for our key Retailers.* Ensure appropriate resources and funding are identified and secured for research and implementation of merchandising shelf strategies and off-shelf non-promoted merchandising solutions.* Cull down broad Consumer-based trends into meaningful new insights for all brands in the Category.* Anticipate and respond to Customer and Field team needs, visiting retail environments regularly and initiating appropriate selling enhancement and/or defense plans to capitalize on market opportunities.* Acting liaison for Field Shopper Insights teams to HQ Sales Strategy and Marketing.* Co-develop and co-manage major, field-based, retailer specific, research projects utilizing macro expertise while identifying potential project efficiencies across internal/external efforts.* Identify and incorporate key Shopper insights for new item launches and innovation.* Develop expertise around the Shopper and incorporate relevant Consumer insights and omnichannel learnings; provide thought leadership and forward-looking ideas and direction.* Develop Category/Brand POG best practices with cross-functional collaboration across internal Shopper Insight, Consumer Insight, and Brand teams; develop POG story for key segments in the Category and overall best in class aisle flow and adjacencies.* Track key initiatives in the marketplace (Competitive dynamics, Omnichannel trends and channel shifting, New Item launches, etc.)* Assist Sales Strategy team with needs around Pricing studies, Retail marketing mix integration, Product preference studies, New item sourcing, Retailer profitability and Incremental placement/assortment analyses and recommendations.Qualifications* B.A. / B.S. degree required. MBA preferred.* 5 + years of proven delivery in CPG, preferably within OTC/, both top and bottom-line results required.* Excellent business acumen; proficient Category/Segment, Shopper research knowledge.* Experience in working on multi-disciplinary teams and managing a significant volume of projects.Skills/Knowledge* Self-motivated and inspire others when facing highly ambiguous, complex situations.* Curiosity and passion for creating breakthrough moments for Shoppers, tailored to specific Retail channels, grounded in leading insights and shopper behavior.* Model collaborative behavior and execution in delivering great programming for Sanofis brand at retail.* Promote and lead with direct, honest, and supportive communication.* Extremely organized, dependable, and self-motivated with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.* Utilizes effective, professional communications to cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues, flexible in own approach to people and situations; creative thinker.* Skilled in using syndicated data, POS and Panel data, and teasing insights out of various Shopper research studies to develop a seamless story focused on shopper behavior and suggested activation.**ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS**Provide the primary groups or key positions that this position will have interaction with as a regular part of the position responsibilities.
