SUMMARY Responsible for delivering benefit billing administration services to clients who have outsourced all or part of their benefits administration. Key functions include the processing of premium invoices, premium payments, eligibility reporting, and COBRA premiums and payments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Calculates premiums for health care, disability, life insurance and other benefit plans and preparation of consolidated bills;
Processes client premium payments;
Performs client premium account and benefits database review and reconciliation;
Prepares monthly and other eligibility reports for distribution in hardcopy or electronic format as required;
Issues notification of qualifying events, processes COBRA elections, posts COBRA premiums, updates eligibility rosters, reports COBRA eligibility and premiums, and issues COBRA termination and conversion notices;
Assists in setup of new billing clients;
Provides input on methods and procedures for new assignments;
Provides support as immediate backup to Benefit Advocates;
Engages in optimal and appropriate usage of applicable agency management systems;
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business, with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting preferred 1 - 3 years experience in benefits administration or accounting Proven experience maintaining high level of accuracy while working with complex benefit administration or accounting details
SKILLS Excellent verbal and written communications skills Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel Good planning, organizational and prioritization skills Ability to work on complex assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations
