Cybersecurity EngineerWork Location: Remote
DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled security toll implementation engineer to join our team. As a key member, you'll be responsible for implementing cutting-edge security tools focused on compliance, application security and network monitoring. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the tool effectively aligns with regulatory stands while providing comprehensive oversight of network activities, You will play a crucial part in safeguarding our systems, mitigating risk, and enhancing our security posture.
Essential functions:
Implement and configure security tools tailored to compliance, network monitoring and application security.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand regulatory standards and ensure the tool meets compliance needsTroubleshoot and resolve any issues related to tool implementation or performanceProvide training and documentation to internal teams on the effective use of the security tools.Performs a lead role in promotion of security awareness programs, assessing gaps and implementing solutions.Responsible for the end-to-end completion of security requests.•Creates or maintains application scripts and uses application specific tools to create or manage application security.Creates and coordinates completion of detailed security reports to fulfill audit, management or business owner requirements.Accountable for follow-up of all security work requests including collaborating with other IT areas to ensure timely completion/resolution and obtainment of appropriate approval levels.Interfaces with users to understand new capabilities, implement procedures, ensure security procedures have been communicated properly and are being adhered to.Provides input to drive process improvements.Works closely with business areas and IT partners on troubleshooting, pre-implementation activities and to assess application security.Maintains and creates operational procedures and maintains Security Knowledge Base.
Job Duties:
Strong understanding of compliance tools such as Tufin, Firemon and RedSealProven experience in implementing security tools, with focus on compliance, network monitoring and application securityAssist with evaluation of monitoring tool, Stealthwatch and determine whether or not to upgrade to newer version or replace with new solution.Strong understanding of Web Application FirewallsStrong understanding of tools that collect Netflow data.In-depth knowledge of Information Technology field and computer systemsDemonstrated organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to adapt to change and collaborate as part of a teamAbility to manage tasks independently without close supervision and take ownership of responsibilitiesAbility to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performanceMust demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skillsAbility to communicate technical information clearly and articulatelyMust have an understanding of the systems development life cycleMust have advanced security knowledge of the organization's existing platforms, systems, databases, and application security and are able to handle most regular issues independently.Advanced analytical thinking, problem solving, quantitative analysis ability.Must have an advanced understanding of Information Security concepts, protocols, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.Must have advanced proficiency with RACF, TSO and tools used to administer security on the mainframeProficiency with Windows skills are required, e.g., Windows Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.Must demonstrate expertise with security management toolsStrong knowledge of business processes is requiredWorks without daily supervision to meet customer expectationsHigh critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategyExperience using Agile methodology specific tools, languages and specialty skills may vary
Required Experience:3-5 year of related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience within IT Security
Required Education:HS Diploma or GED
Good to have Certification:COMPTIA Security+ or equivalent
