Job SummaryCoordinates and leads the activities for designated work area. Activities include managing inventory accurately and safely in the effort of meeting or exceeding customer and company requirements. Leads by example in these activities and assists supervisor with managing, directing and training the warehouse associates.Job DutiesLead day-to-day work activities, readily respond to team members issues and concerns and ensure all Distribution tasks are completed according to customer requirements and company standardsAssist in operating machinery and provide additional support to fill resource gaps in designated department when neededAssign routine tasks to team members, audit the quality and accuracy of their work, and provide coaching when appropriateTrain new hires and provide information to Manager and Supervisor regarding their progress and unique learning needsMonitor performance, report issues, and provide input into review processAssist in preparing warehouse for customer visits, audits (both internal and external), tours, etc.Assist with productivity monitoring, data input, and reportingMove materials, supplies, and finished goods inventory to/from designated storage locations using radio frequency (RF) and lift truck equipmentUtilize JDE, RFS, and RF technology to transact the movement of inventory and ship productPick, label, stage, wrap, and load orders/shipmentsAssist in administering and auditing Housekeeping ProgramInspect materials, final products and machinery for defectsImplement process improvement initiatives as neededEnsure that department output meets organizational expectationGuide the manufacturing/operations team in interpreting existing processes and policies and assist in the development of efficiencies or process improvementsComplete all necessary documents fully and accuratelyAdhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assignedExperience and EducationPerform work under minimal supervisionHandle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staffPossess comprehensive working knowledge of subject matterTypically require a high school diploma or equivalent and 4 to 6 years of experience, including experience driving powered industrial equipmentProvide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate groupPowered industrial equipment certification preferredCompetencies/ SkillsAbility to interpret work instructionsAbility to follow written and verbal directionsIntermediate verbal and written communication skillsIntermediate mathematical skillsProficient use of computers, JDE/MRP systems, RFS or trans-collector solutions, and MS officeProficiency in use of requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, packing lists, bill of ladings, master bill of ladings, etc.Familiarity with general warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, and terminologyIntermediate use of required gaging instruments and the application of such instrumentsManual dexterityLeadership skillsAbility to foster teamworkGood interpersonal skillsGood problem-solving skills
