Performance Analyst
| Charlotte (Hybrid) | $70-125k (depending on exp/designations) + 10-30% bonus
Established investment manager seeks Analyst to join Performance/Analytics Team responsible for GIPS compliance and support of analytics requests, quarterly marketing content creation, and regulatory reporting. Ideal candidate will bring performance measurement domain knowledge, investment systems know-how, along with work ethic and mindset to operate in a demanding environment where routine work must be balanced with unexpected demands.
Responsibilities:
Maintain integrity of portfolio/composite/index performance data (validate performance, maintain composite assignments, review benchmark data)
Ensure all inputs to and processes to generate accurate performance returns are efficient/timely
Support existing team on firm/product related data functions/requests (scheduled/ad hoc tasks such as AUM/performance reporting, attribution analysis, portfolio characteristics, peer comparisons, etc.)
Provide information for new business development (Marketing/RFP/Databases), investment and management team requests
Assist data delivery team with firm/product content for marketing/external database reporting
Review marketing content/documentation and monitor policies/procedures related to operational functions; ensure composite performance calculations and annual verification adhere to GIPS requirements
Participate in projects/initiatives as needed (GIPS third party verification, new product review, system transitions, firm or asset class methodology changes)
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (preferably in finance, accounting, or relevant field)
2+ years of back/middle office investment experience with focus on performance measurement or product analysis
Preferred: CIPM or other professional designation; direct work with GIPS and verification process
Technical understanding of markets/securities (fixed income preferred), portfolio construction, investment systems, performance, composites, and product analysis
Excellent overall computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including vlookup, pivot tables and macros); competency with investment systems, data providers, and analytics tools (Seismic, Advent APX, Archer, Orion, Charles River, Factset, Bloomberg, CAPS, Snowflake, etc. a plus); any data manipulation (SQL, VBA, etc.) skills a plus
