Our Atlanta office is located in the historic Biltmore building, across from Georgia Tech’s campus, walking distance to several great restaurants and centrally located to the MARTA. We allow for flexible hours and some telecommuting options, but you should be in office most days.
THE ROLE: Sensus, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Software Security Java Engineer with a desire to join their Analytics team delivering Big Data applications in the Cloud. We’re focused on helping utility companies visualize and make use of the reams of data coming in from their smart meters so they can lower costs and reduce consumption.
This is a market poised for explosive growth and this team is ready to take advantage of it.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participate in the development process from definition to deployment.
Develop cutting-edge technologies to improve Sensus’s software offering.
Create and maintain back end oriented services and micro-services utilized by the rest of our architecture.
Maintain and improve existing cloud-based applications, reducing costs and streamlining efficiency.
Engineer code that is efficient, standard and well documented.
Take on challenging tasks as needed with an eagerness to develop skills in new areas.
Bring to the job an excitement and work ethic on par for a startup technology firm.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Computer Science or related field.
5+ year’s minimum of Java development in a team environment.
Proven ability to develop back end services in a large scale, high performance environment.
Developing On-premise and cloud based REST APIs and micro-services
Developing and enhancing authentication and authorization modules
Developing secure applications following OWASP guidelines
Translating security design into code in APIs and/or micro services environment
Integrating encryption and digital signatures using symmetric/asymmetric keys in software modules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of attack vectors that may be used to exploit software
Experience with Spring boot, Spring Security and Open Source Security libraries
Experience in using JWTs as delegation access tokens in micro services integration patterns
Experience with OpenIdConnect/OAuth2, APIKeys authentication flows
Experience with virtualized deployment practices, particularly AWS
Good to have: Experience/understanding on AWS security with IAM, Security Groups, Security Policies knowledge
Experience with secure credential storage and management (RBAC)
Experience with MongoDB or other noSql datastore
Experience with various programing languages such as Go and python
Experience with EventStore concepts using technologies like Kafka
Experience with server-side MVC containers (Spring, Struts, Play Framework).
Experience with Agile methodology or similar lean startup approach to building software.
