Job Summary

The Sr. QA Engineer is an IT Applications Testing Shared Services resource who is responsible for Systems automation testing lead activities for systems implementation and O&M software development projects. The Sr. QA Engineer is required to perform analysis and review of system requirements, estimations, peer reviews, test data determination and preparation, designing test strategy and test cases, executing test cases and monitoring and control of overall test activities, UAT and Production support and provide testing status. This position is also responsible for mentoring testing team members. This position will lead efforts in performing POC/research for new tools, making recommendations of such tools, and implementing upon management approval.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop DB scripts for ETL and DB validation and enhance test automation framework in Selenium, Python, and SQL language.• Work with DevOps teams to implement and maintain CI/CD pipeline for executing Automated Regression Suite.• Maintain the automated code and code revision history in version control tool.• Perform Cloud Testing for application’s migration to AWS/cloud environment.• Develop SQL queries for test data management.• Execute automated tests and analyze the execution results.• Propose improvements / optimizations to existing automation framework.• Responsible for writing test scenarios and test cases from the user stories, using Comprehensive Traceability Matrix for each change requests.• Responsible for providing LOEs and/or ROMs for the projects for both manual and automation testing.• Review and analyze system data flows, Business requirements, and Technical design and provide feedback to improve business.• Adhere to best practices and standards at Maximus in areas such as code reviews, RCAs, Anomalies, Bugs, Issues, tasks etc. at each stage of SDLC• Assist users during UAT Test cycles and provide support for UAT testing as needed.• Responsible for Test Planning and executing all phases of test cycle including system, integration, end to end and regression testing using Agile/Scrum Framework.• Tracking and reporting defects using JIRA and working with development team to get it resolved and verify the same.• Attend scrum meetings, sprint review, sprint retrospective, test scenario meetings, effort estimation meetings, system requirements review meetings etc.• Mentor other team members during the sprint work and provide project specific trainings to the new team members.• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Experience Requirements:• Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of related work experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience (preferred field of study in Computer Science or Engineering)• Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree• Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors• Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results• Ability to network with key contacts outside own area of expertise• Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways• Ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead• Demonstrate strong analytical/statistical skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, and other computer software applications• Ability to solve problems quickly and accurately• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills• Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment• Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously• Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently

Additional Skills / Knowledge Preferred:• Healthcare Industry experience is a plus.• Experience testing in Agile/SCRUM environments

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for Systems testing lead activities for systems implementation and O&M software development projects.- Perform analysis and review of system requirements, estimations, peer reviews, test data determination and preparation, designing test strategy and test cases, executing test cases and monitoring and control of overall test activities, UAT and Production support and provide testing status.- Responsible for mentoring testing team members.- Lead efforts in performing POC/research for new tools, making recommendations of such tools, and implementing upon management approval.- Test preparation and test execution.- Develop, maintain, and implement integration/system test strategy, test plans, test processes, test scenarios and test cases based on MAXIMUS’ CMMI standards.- Identify and determine data for testing.- Communicate with analysts and developers to understand/clarify requirements.- Identify, report and manage defects in defect tracking system.- Participate in level of effort estimates.- Maintain project’s test documentation.- Participate in reviews as per project’s scope.- Work with external parties for interface testing.- Mentor testers on the project and assist with complex testing SQL and or utilities needed for testing during white/gray box testing.- Assist with development of functional automation scripts for regression testing.- Assist with performance testing when required.- Participate in UAT and Production support.- Troubleshoot user reported production defects.- Provide systems test results walkthroughs and assist in data prep and supports test case execution for UAT.- Conduct demos/walkthroughs.- Participate in project meetings and status reporting.- Provide testing status reports per project requirements and provide input to the Project Plans and Processes.- Identify and communicate risks to the Project team.- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager.- Provide technical information for Change Requests meetings.- Participate in team meetings when necessary.- Participate in QMSS activities to support Shared Services and CMMI (M&A and PPQA) functions.- Participate in collection and review of quantitative data related to software testing and development activities for measurement and analysis.- Participate in PPQA reviews and audits of project activities and work products to ensure compliance with documented plans, procedures and standards as required.- Participate in tools selection process and make recommendation.
