About the Opportunity

Under the leadership of the Program Director/Principal Investigator, the Program Navigator will play a lead role in the implementation of the Associates to Masters (A2M) Pathway Program between Northeastern University and Roxbury Community College (RCC) with the goal to create a cohesive A2M scholars' cohort and a highly supportive learner experience.

Works closely with departments across the University and at Roxbury Community College, such as the Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid, Enrollment Management, and Learner Services to coordinate these resources for the benefit of A2M scholars.

Serve at both Northeastern's campus and Roxbury's campus locations to provide academic and organizational supports to students; enhance communication between the colleges, advisors, and faculty to improve student retention; and assist in transitioning of students from one college to the next in the A2M pathway.

Work closely with the faculty and staff at the University and RCC to help identify and coordinate mentoring, tutoring and career coaching services. Provide academic guidance to students concerning co-ops and internships, employment opportunities, course selection, registration, preparation for graduation, and more. Assist students with resume preparation and interview preparation for research and internship opportunities and assist with the transfer process from RCC to Northeastern University. In collaboration with faculty, conduct surveys, document data and assess the overall outcomes to the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

50% Student Support:Actively and consistently support students from recruitment, to point of admission through program completion with a focus on persistence and retention.Connect with students using multiple modalities based on individual student preferences to support student needs.Assist students in their transition from community college to the College.Work with students to create individual degree plans and maximize transfer credit toward degree completion.Guide students in course selection, registration, and co-op and internship opportunities.Provide general career coaching and support including assistance with building a personal network, writing resumes, and preparing for interviews.In collaboration with employers, match students with experiential opportunities to strengthen their skills, build authentic experiences, and apply their learning.Respond to student inquiries from point of contact through resolution.Make appropriate referrals to on- and off-campus services to meet student needs.Monitor student progress; track students who become academically inactive and encourage them to resume their studies. Plan community-building events, facilitate campus-based and virtual skills workshops and industry and networking events.50% Program Operations and Assessment:

Monitor academic program operations and implement College policies and procedures to support the A2M mission and goals.Maintain consistency and compliance with ADA, FERPA, SEVIS, and other state, federal, and University and College guidelines.Coordinate with advisors and program managers to develop schedules for students. Work with enrollment management, academic advising, and financial aid to track applications, admissions, and enrollments to determine which courses will run term to term.Monitor enrollment goals, class sizes, and cancellations.In coordination with the PI and Director of the Lowell Institute School, monitor and evaluate the program and recommend changes to enhance academic and operational effectiveness.Manage student and faculty concerns and maintain regular communication regarding such concerns from start to resolution between the College and community college partners.Design and deliver programs to support the unique needs of students in caseload, including workshops and webinars that enhance and add value to the student experience in areas related to persistence and retention.Work to foster community connections among the students in assigned programs.Maintain up-to-date notes and record keeping of each student meeting including tracking of student academic progress and outcomes using the College CRM systemCollect and report student data as they pertain to student persistence, retention and satisfactionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Strong leadership and effective communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to diverse constituencies.Innovative and creative thinker with excellent judgment.A demonstrated understanding of the unique needs of non-traditional and adult students and strong commitment to continuing education.Knowledge of professional development and career advising best practices.Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Salesforce and Banner a plus.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability and comfort to handle multiple tasks and projects and manage rapidly evolving priorities.Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions in a timely manner based on thoughtful analysis and critical judgment.Knowledge and skills required for this position are normally obtained through a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of experience in program management or academic advising in a two- or four-year college setting or related environment.
