Software Engineer, Flight Infrastructure and Simulation
reporting to the
Senior Manager, Flight Software Architecture
to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time,
exempt
position located in our
Long Beach
location.
Responsibilities:
Help design, and implement software to support Flight Systems, and SITL (software in the loop) systems
Work with subject matter experts to integrate simulation models and with various devices for hardware in the loop systems
Work across the software department and company to establish requirements
Develop unit and integrated tests, and establish continuous integration framework for flight and ground software
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or other engineering discipline
3+ years of experience coding in C++
Strong understanding of version control systems
Strong grasp of networking concepts
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience with facilities within an aerospace industry
Familiar with space planning procedures and operations
Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs
Ability to create and update request for proposals (RFPs), purchase orders (POs) and facilities work orders in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers
Logical and strategic approach to solving problems
Ability to read and understand basic floor plans
Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.
Additional Requirements:
Experience writing software for safety-critical applications
Proficient in working within a continuous build and test environment
Experience working in a Linux environment
Experience in network programming
Hands-on experience with TCP/IP
Understanding of Linux networking configurations
Familiarity with the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)
Pay Range:
Flight Software Engineer I: $105,000 - $135,000
Flight Software Engineer II: $130,000 - $165,000

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package.
