What You'll do In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead processes related to Governance, Risk, and Controls and acting as the Compliance liaison to operational risk, technology risk, and the Legal Department. Our Compliance work centers on three pillars, AML/BSA Compliance, GRC Tools and processes, and Internal and Regulatory Compliance. Your work will aid compliance routines and processes, assist in establishing a robust effective challenge culture, and help drive our commitment to compliance excellence. We encourage and support our team members to think creatively and challenge the status quo. You'll be expected to act as a change agent, take initiative, and exercise independent judgment in delivering practical, sustainable recommendations to enhance internal and regulatory compliance. How you'll make an impact: Managing core Compliance processes, while modernization and streamlining procedures leveraging our core GRC tool Riskonnect Lead critical meetings and projects to ensure the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is meeting regulatory obligations Lead learning projects that improve Compliance knowledge of teammates What you can expect: Identify, develop, implement/improve, and manage the company's GRC programs, policies, and procedures, and tools (Riskonnect) Identify, develop and define the needs while understanding the GRC tool to implement and monitor the required needs of the stakeholders (e.g. Enterprise Issue Management process to properly report Issues across the organization) Identify GRC program risks and communicating them across teams and senior leaders for it to be managed Develop and deliver training and awareness programs to employees around GRC technologies and procedures. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of GRC programs and initiatives to senior management and stakeholders (e.g. data integrity of GRC tool that may require development or maintenance of GRC exception reporting, managing a Quality Assurance process) Manage and potentially create reporting for management or Board (e.g. Audit Metrics and Audit Committee presentations driven from GRC data) Champions process re-engineering by challenging the status quo of current processes and implements improvements or alternatives (e.g. Audit's SharePoint site, directory) Lead as a responsible change agent, garnering commitment from key stakeholders to implement, or enhance compliance strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence Develop and deepen relationships with internal partners including: First-Line, Operational Risk, Audit, and Legal departments, drive timely identification and remediation of risk Ownership and execution of regulatory responsibility, including execution of AML/BSA responsibilities as designated by the bank's AML/BSA Officer What you'll bring: 2 plus years of experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance Strong organizational skills, including ability to effectively prioritize and meeting deadlines, develop workflows, and processes to support business partners Prior Financial Services and/or mortgage experience is a plus Experience designing and implementing financial services compliance strategies Highly comfortable working with ambiguity to understand, analyze, develop and innovate proposed solutions from interdepartmental requests and requirements Proactive, highly organized, efficient individual with effective time management skills and ability to multi-task or projects. Highly professional, accountable person with strong attention to detail; self-starter, dependable and flexible. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with potentially competing deadlines.
