Position Summary
The Electrician provides services required for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various electrical components. Ensures prompt and proficient performance of assigned duties.
Duties
Performs a variety of duties essential to the distribution and use of electricity throughout UH owned and leased buildings.
Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, based on building requirements and code
Installs, inspects, tests, repairs or replaces and maintains: wiring and conduit, power circuits, switches, controls, lights, fuses, resistors, motors and components

Experience/Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience working as a journeyman or apprentice electrician.
- Must have a basic understanding of safety practices, state and local electrical codes, electrical circuits, motors, switches and switching gear.
- The ability to speak, read, and write English, make simple calculations, and follow simple written and oral directions is required.
- Hospital experience is a plus.
