Overview
AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for dynamic and energetic pediatric hospitalist to join our team at AdventHealth Waterman.
- Physician would be expected to perform pediatric admissions and discharges within the dedicated Pediatric Floor
- ED pediatric consults, coordinate patient transfers as needed
- participate in daily, family centered rounding
- perform newborn admissions and discharges
- Patient stabilization and resuscitation
- The schedule would consist of both restricted (in hospital) and unrestricted call (from home) resulting in approximately 15 shifts per month.
Requirements of the position: Board Certification/Eligible American Board of Pediatrics.
Our pediatric hospitalist team consists of over 30 physicians and 10 APPs that help provide care to 7 locations across our network.
Our program at AdventHealth for Children is recognized as one of the top Childrens Hospital in the state of Florida. The Level 4 NICU in Orlando has over 100 NICU beds with access to all major medical/surgical pediatric subspecialties.

This is an employment opportunity through AdventHealth Medical Group, a 900+ physician, multi-specialty organization. AHMG is a sister organization of AdventHealth. AdventHealth Waterman (formerly Florida Hospital Waterman) is a 300-bed, full-service community hospital located in the heart of Lake County. Founded in 1938 by Frank Waterman, president of the Waterman Fountain Pen Company, the hospital has grown from an 18-bed facility to a leading provider of acute and home health services in Central Florida. The hospital joined the Adventist Health System in 1992 and moved to its current location in 2003. AdventHealth Waterman is located at 1000 Waterman Way in Tavares, Florida, approximately 35 miles northwest of Orlando. Tavares is located in beautiful Lake County, where residents and visitors enjoy the quiet pleasures of serene living among 1,400 lakes for fishing and water sports, all within 90 minutes of the Orlando International Airport, East Coast beaches, Gulf Coast beaches, and the Orlando area attractions. The average temperature is 70 degrees, with summer highs in the 90's and winter lows in the 50's and 60's.
AdventHealth for Children Description
Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full service, tertiary childrens hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 30 peds ICU beds with a dedicated peds CICU, a 102 bed level 4 NICU, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We started our comprehensive pediatric open heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes. We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program, the regions only BMT and solid organ transplants including kidney and liver, and we increased Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017. Our unparalleled network consists of 30 hospitals across the state with one childrens hospital at the center totals over 15,000 births and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics. Our newest program has brought pediatric liver transplant services to Central Florida.
