Cyber Security Specialist / Navy Qualified Validator

Summary/Objective

KMS Solutions is seeking a Navy Qualified Validator and Cyber Security Specialist to join our highly motivated team of engineers and technicians. This job would provide cyber security technical support and/or Navy qualified validator support to the Combat Systems Department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport RI.

Essential FunctionsThorough understanding of NAVY (DON) RMF and basic familiarity with IT/Networks.Review of the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) System Security Plan for existing systems; identify issues and provide solutions.Review of POA&M's and develop Risk AssessmentsUnderstand and use RMF policies (RMF Process Guide, DoN Standard Operating Procedures, NAVSEA Business Rules.Conduct independent security control assessments in accordance with NIST SP 800-37Use and understand e-MASSMust have strong organizational skills and attention to detail; work well independently and within a teamRequired Education and Experience:

Secret DoD clearanceMust have an 8570.01M IAM/IAT certificate (Security + at a minimum CAP or CASP/CISSP preferred)Two to five years Cyber experiencePossess or be able to obtain Navy Qualified Validator status appointed by the NAVY SCA.Experience with ACASS, STIGViewer, eMASS.Preferred Education and Experience:

Associates level or higher Cyber educationDoD 5000, Active-duty Navy, and / or Navy acquisition experience desired, not required.Engineering experience specifically with undersea warfare systems and/or Combat systemsFour plus years of Navy RMF experienceNavy Qualified ValidatorCompetencies:

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.

Travel:

Up to 10% travel may be required.
