GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for safely operating various machining, production, and assembly operations to produce high quality manufactured parts or assembled production. Also, this position will have the ability to set up or make minor adjustments to various machines.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Correctly setup and operate various machines, follow the production and quality procedures following prints and checking materials for defects, maintain production materials, inspect product to ensure high quality. Able to run various different types of equipment.Perform minor adjustments and daily maintenance to equipmentParticipate on Continuous Improvement TeamsProvide training to other associatesBasic or routine troubleshootingAble to operator material handling equipment: (Forklift, Stand Behinds, Trucks)Ability to work with minimal supervisionConduct machine and production changeovers as requiredCertified to operate various workstations/positions within the facility to meet production needsInspect measurements and product to ensure quality and accuracyTransport the product to the correct location when completedUpdate all completed work in the correct system per the scheduleAbility to understand and execute verbal instructions regarding duties to be performedAbility to perform and demonstrate all manufacturing procedures after training.Assist with other duties within the department and/or other work stations/departments when necessaryComplete clean-up responsibilities and maintain work station according to 5S procedureDemonstrate our five core values of Integrity, Customer Responsiveness, Innovation, Passionate Contribution & Empowerment and Continuous ImprovementUnderstand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Ability to read, write and speak English fluentlyDemonstrated ability to use and interpret measurement tools such as tape measure, micrometers and calipersAbility to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, BOM's and associated proceduresAbility to follow directions and work with minimal supervisionFlexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasksDemonstrated mechanical aptitudeBasic math skills and problem solving skillsAbility to operate some or all of the following types of equipment: Presses, Laser Turret, Welder, Table Saws, Edgers, Paint Sprayers, Mills and other Manufacturing Equipment as neededAbility to identify and communicate basic process improvementsMust possess high level of attention to detailWorks well in a Team EnvironmentCapability to Train othersAbility to work well in a team environmentProvide training to other associatesThe ability to make decisions on imperfect informationThe ability to multitask and bias towards actionsProven reliability - attendance and punctualityMust understand basic lean principles - 5S, KanbanAbility to use the following hand tools: drills, screw drivers, hammers, etc.Minimum Education and Experience Required:

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.Two years of previous experience in operating specific specialized equipment outside of Milestone or two years of demonstrated experience operating a variety of different types of machinery.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements of the hands and fingers to grasp/pinch, and manipulate objects. This may include frequent use of vibrating/pneumatic tools, overhead and outstretched reaching with arms, bending/twisting/stooping, kneeling/squatting and frequently lifting/carrying up to 70 lbs. throughout the day and occasionally up to 75lbs as needed. Also may occasionally include pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.May occasionally be exposed to dust and spray fumes.Regular shop assembly/distribution center environment (no air conditioning)Steel-toed shoes are required for working in this position.
