Responsible for designing PLC programs and SCADA systems for packaged generator sets, biogas digesters, and renewable natural gas upgrading systems. The programmer is responsible for conceptualizing industrial processes for program designs and system protection schemes. The role requires analyzing mechanical and electrical designs, building a sequence of operations, implementing that sequence into a functioning PLC program, and assembling program(s) into a user-friendly SCADA system. Employee will also play a key role in testing, commissioning, and upkeep of their projects.

Requirements

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

o Understand and implement automation designs from mechanical and electrical drawings.

o Prepare and/or revise CAD files, equipment specifications, manuals, sequence of operation documents, etc.

o Create automation programs for system control.

o Interact with contractors and customers using verbal and written communication.

o Assist the sales department with creating sales estimates for new projects.

Requirements

o +2 years of verifiable work experience in an automation technology related field.

o Experience with PLC, HMI/SCADA, and variable frequency drive programming.

o Preferred experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Red Lion, Horner, or other types of automation equipment.

o Preferred experience with Ignition or other SCADA software.

o Excellent communication skills to explain technical specifics to peers and customers.

o Excellent writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals, and design documentation.

o Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

o Focus and concentration to understand complex electrical systems.

o Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

o Excellent time management skills

o Self-motivated and eager learner, with an aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

o Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

o Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations

o Familiar with the National Electric Code (NEC)

o AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred.
