We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Cloud Operations Engineer – Expert IT within our Cloud Operations group based in Houston, Texas.
A successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for:
Maintaining automated deployment, monitoring, and scaling solutions to ensure the smooth operation of our cloud-based systems.Conduct regular performance assessments and capacity planning to identify and address potential bottlenecks and ensure optimal system performance.Implementing and maintaining robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure and applications.Deploying infrastructure using Terraform Cloud to support day-to-day and future operations.Provide technical guidance on reading and creating CloudWatch metrics for both technical and non-technical users.Understanding of AWS IAM permissions with the ability to troubleshoot access issuesImplementing and executing AWS Automation Documents across the organizationEnsuring that SSM agents and CloudWatch agents across the organization are installed and configured properlySupporting the needs of both technical and non-technical users with ServiceNow ticketingTroubleshooting various issues utilizing Athena queries for AWS CloudTrail or Systems Manager InventoryReviewing configured associations and compliance setup across the organizationReviewing the AWS Health dashboard and alerts to ensure that any upcoming issues or changes are accounted forMaintaining the compliance of AWS resource tags and resource groupsMonitor and remediate tasks raised by AWS Systems Manager ExplorerWorking with various stakeholders to troubleshoot issues that contain a variety of disciplines
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
PowerShell, CloudShell, bash, PythonUtilize pipeline automation using Azure DevOps (Git, YAML Pipelines)Developing infrastructure as code (Terraform)Provide support to both technical and non-technical usersDeveloping monitoring, alerting, and scaling for solutions (AWS CloudWatch, EventBridge)Understanding of AWS Systems ManagerUnderstanding of AWS Organizations and delegated adminsUnderstanding of AWS Tags and Resource GroupsCommunication skills (written and verbal English is a must). Ability to work well with people and assess each customer’s individual needs. Need to be able to communicate with people and businesses outside of the organization and company, which may include business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers.Strong customer service ethos with experience in change management.Excellent organizational skills including accurate records keeping and proper documentation.Ability to work independently, self-organize, follow through without reminders, follow up, multi-task, follow processes and policies (including environmental & safety), and act as a contributing member of a team environment.
