Senior Software Engineer - DevOps

Our client is looking for a highly motivated individual to provide DevOps Engineering services to the team. In this role you will be responsible for developing and managing CI/CD pipelines, AWS cloud infrastructure, Security, Compliance, Release & Risk Management. You will work with the software development team to provide them the tools to develop, test, and release high quality software in a securely and efficiently.
Required Expertise:
A Passion for DevOps culture, new technologies, practices, and ways of workingStrong software engineering experienceStrong Linux administration and Scripting (BASH) experienceHands on experience with container technologies (Docker & Kubernetes)Hands on experience in cloud application deployment automation patterns and various scripting languagesHands on experience developing platform automation, experience with DevSecOps technologies like BitBucket, Artifactory, Concourse, Jenkins, and VeracodeHands on experience working with and maintaining Continuous delivery / Deployment technologiesSolid understanding of SSDLC and Agile standard methodologiesHands on experience with AWS Cloud, including CloudFormation, ECS, EKS, EC2, Security/VPC, IAM, RDS (Aurora).Knowledge of working with Node, TypeScript, and JavaScript applicationsExcellent presentation, documentation, communication and influencing skills, as well as skills which present/influence technology direction in business context to the partners.Required Skills:
Experience supporting applications on cloud such as AWS for 3+ yearsDeveloping and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for microservices using Jenkins & Concourse.Consistently seeks out opportunities to evaluate and adopt new tools and continually improve existing automation and release processesExperience using blue/green deployments and maintaining availability during installsExperience with monitoring tools, like Datadog, to identify issues in deployed environments.Troubleshoot and debug these issues to facilitate resolution in code and infrastructure.Strong motivated and time management skills.Open to direction and following agreed upon standards; yet are comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy experimenting, developing, and communicating alternativesCreative and enjoy collaborating to tackle complex problems, providing technical expertise to development, QA, and operations teams to execute DevOps strategies.Value You Will Deliver:
Identifying functional & non-functional requirements that are not currently met and advocate solutions to address these gaps.Applying appropriate approaches to assessing trade-offs among architectural goalsActively participating in planning, definition, design, and integration of pipeline & infrastructure services working with partners in the enterprise to assure consistency & ease of development.Owning the implementation of generic common component/service aspects of pipelines, which may include applications, infrastructure, security and/or database strategiesParticipating in the enforcement of code quality standards for the team as well as implementing strong internal, repeatable DevOps & release processesBuilding relationships with development team with quick alignment of value and understanding of their business and technology requirements
